HEALTHY CHOICE HOMESTYLE SALISBURY STEAK

Yesterday was a pretty cool day around my house.  I spent my morning cleaning the pool and the afternoon laying in the sun poolside.  The kids played and splashed in the pool, the dogs stayed in the yard and didn't run to the neighbors, and all was right with the world.  Well, as the dinner hour approached I realized that I didn't have anything in mind to fix and the kids would be a'hollerin for something to eat.  We've had our gutfulls of pizza lately and I just didn't want to cook.  (These are wonderful days indeed as my dear husband is working in North Carolina for the summer, thus the pressure to cook every night is off).  So we took our movies back to Redbox and decided to have frozen dinners.  I haven't had a frozen dinner is over a year and I don't like all the sodium and preservatives in them so I just don't buy them, except tonight and now I remember why.

The kids ate theirs.  Some had Banquet and some had Swansons.  One kid had chicken nugget thingies and the other two had salisbury steak.  They were not real impressed with their choices either.  Mostly they just ate the meat and I should probably be concerned with that because I'm not really sure that it's really meat.

As you can see, I did not and could not eat all of mine.  The meat had this really weird taste and the texture was "creamy", like it was very well combined.  I saw them make hotdogs one time on "How It's Made" and I never want a hotdog again.  I'm sure this "meat" product is pretty much the same.  The green beans were rubbery and the apple crisp was, well, not good.  The only thing that tasted half way decent was the redskin potatoes and I ate all of those.

Next time, I'll man up and make dinner myself or get that pizza.  You can't go wrong with either one.
